Youth Pilgrimage to NCYC to Celebrate the Conclusion of the Year of Faith

Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R. and Bishop Christopher J. Coyne invite all high school youth of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to the closing Liturgy of NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) 2013 in celebration of the closing of the Year of Faith. Please offer to any high school youth of your parish, school campus ministry or religion classes, who for whatever reason were unable to attend the entire conference, the opportunity to experience the larger, young church by participating in this pilgrimage opportunity!    In addition, parishes and schools may bring their junior high (7th and 8th graders) to the experience in hopes that they may want to attend when they are in high school!  The closing Liturgy will be celebrated at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, November 23rd, at 8:00 PM.; however, you may arrive at 6:30 PM for the start of the final general session.  There is no cost to attend this event but you must register your group to receive wrist bands to enter the stadium.

Parishes and schools are encouraged to organize groups and must register online to attend this event by October 31, 2013.

Adults (21 and older) are able to attend as chaperones for groups of youth.

Young adults and college students (high school graduates, ages 18-22) are encouraged to attend the National Catholic Collegiate Conference (NCCC) which will be held simultaneously with NCYC in Indianapolis. Click HERE for more details.

What is the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)?

The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC for short) is a biennial gathering of high school youth from around the United States. It is an opportunity for you to experience the true universality of the Catholic Church by praying, going to Mass, and experiencing Christ in Reconciliation and Adoration with other Catholics from around the country.

NCYC always attracts some of the biggest and best known Catholic speakers and musicians, and brings them together to share their time and experiences with you in break-out sessions and workshops.

There are also plenty of opportunities for you to get to know other people from different regions of the U.S. Entertainment includes concerts, a dance, a comedy club as well as interactive exhibits.

Ultimately, NCYC is a weekend get-together with the you, the Holy Trinity, and 23,000 of your closest friends!

When is NCYC?

This year, NCYC is being held Thursday, November 21 through Saturday, November 23, 2013.

Where is NCYC being held this year?

Indianapolis, IN is playing host to NCYC once again! Lucas Oil Stadium, home of our Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Convention Center will be the meeting sites for 23,000 Catholic youth from across the country. Our capital city has a lot to offer visitors; whether you are from Indianapolis, have visited many times, or haven't been before, there is always something new to see and do. Check out the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association for more details on our great city!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why should I go to NCYC?

NCYC is a great opportunity for you to meet other Catholic youth from around the United States while at the same time entering into a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church. It is an experience unlike almost any other event because you will be surrounded by 25,000 other Catholic youth that want to become more engaged in their faith and Church. NCYC attracts some of the most well known Catholic speakers, so the presentations are always top of the line and engaging.

Don't take our word for it though, here are some quotes from previous NCYC participants:

"NCYC has forever changed my outlook on my religion and faith. The speakers went through many struggles in their lives but they all still believe in God because he was with them all the way. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life."

"NCYC is something every single Catholic youth should be involved in; 23,000 Catholic youth, what a great experience. I'm going to the next one."

"The closing Liturgy was phenomenal. It was great seeing over 100 bishops, priests, and deacons con-celebrating together."

NCYC will give you a great experience of the universal Church while deepening your faith and letting you have fun do it. So the question isn't "Why should I go to NCYC?" The question is "Why shouldn't I?"
