What is Homeland Mission?

It is an opportunity for young people to spend a week in our own community serving those in need. The goal of the week is that the young people see Christ in those they serve, and that those they serve, see Christ in them.

Each day starts with prayer, and then they board their van which will take them to their work site for the day. In the late afternoon there is time for free time, personal reflection, Mass and social activities.

When is Homeland Mission?

This year's Homeland Mission Project begins on Sunday, June 22 and runs through Friday, June 27.

Check-in will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 22 at Benedict Inn Retreat and Conference Center (1402 Southern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46107) and will be followed by an Opening Mass at 7:00 PM. Parents and family are welcome and encouraged to attend. Mass will be followed by a brief parent meeting.

*Dinner will NOT be served on Sunday, June 22. Please eat dinner prior to arrival.

Why should I go on Homeland Mission?

The Archdiocesan Homeland Mission Project is a great opportunity to serve those less fortunate than ourselves and to truly be the hands and feet of Christ to the world. It is also a great chance to meet other teens from around the Archdiocese and enjoy experiencing the Universal Church in a new way.

Apart from the service each day, there are social events and activities that provide a chance to relax and just have fun.

Of course, our service and friendship must be rooted in Christ and His Church, so Mass and prayer help provide a solid foundation for the week. Many teens leave the week saying how Homeland Mission has helped them become closer to Christ.

So why should you come on Homeland Mission? Service, Friends, Fun, and most importantly GOD!
